Cook Islands PM on board for the inaugural exploration voyage of Anuanua Moana

Cook Islands Prime Minister, Mark Brown shared a video on Facebook talking about the inaugural exploration voyage of Anuanua Moana.

He wrote, “I was fortunate to be on board for the inaugural exploration voyage of Anuanua Moana. We mapped Rarotonga then to Nga-Pu-Toru then finished in Aitutaki to drop us off and pick up more scientific crew. They now head off for 4 weeks into their licensed area to start mapping the seafloor. Tei mua.”

He later shared a 3D topographical map of the area around Rarotonga.

He wrote “In a matter of hours of data collection, the hydrographers on board the Anuanua Moana were able to process this info to produce a 3D topographical map of the area around Rarotonga and what it looks like under the water. Very impressive scientific equipment on board. First steps on our journey of discovery.”
