Rainbow Warrior sets sail for the Pacific to amplify the voices of Pacific people suffering the impacts of climate change to the world’s highest court

Greenpeace vessel, the Rainbow Warrior, set sail for the Pacific Monday as part of a global effort to take climate harm to the world’s highest court.

The vessel will arrive in Vanuatu on 05 July, before making stops in Tuvalu and Fiji to gather evidence for an advisory opinion at the International Court of Justice.

Senior Pacific campaigner, Sepesa Rasili, said the ship would amplify the voices of pacific People suffering the impacts of climate change.

“It does research and provides an opportunity for conversations with governments, civil society and even faith-based organisations to talk about the impact of climate change on a daily basis,” he said.

“When our evidence is compiled it will become part of our submission in terms of the International Court of Justice advisory opinion,” said Rasili.
